Moving To San Antonio TX

MILITARY PCS TO SAN ANTONIO, TX –

San Antonio continues to welcome military families relocating after a PCS move from around the country and even around the world. If you’re thinking of buying a home, here is what military families should know about San Antonio real estate. Thanks to a healthy economy, interest rates are low but so is the San Antonio housing inventory. Many houses will go under contract before a family can even schedule a listing. And, San Antonio homes are selling at full ask or even over list price due to high demand. As a Realtor and Broker (and military brat myself) I’ve helped many military families find homes in San Antonio and this is the advice I would give.

Before your military move to San Antonio –

Identify an ideal location based on your needs and lifestyle. If you are waiting to buy a home after you relocate, you can drive around the neighborhoods after your move to San Antonio. And, make sure you drive around during different times of the day to get a feel for what it is like to live there. Is it noisy at night? Is there heavy traffic in the mornings? Do you need a home near the Lackland AFB or homes near the Randolph AFB?

However, if you are hoping to find a home remotely, or before or during the PCS then working with me and my team of Realtors is key. We know San Antonio. We provide our clients a concierge-style service whether they are in San Antonio or half-way around the world. If you are not able to experience the commute or drive the neighborhoods, our team works to deliver you those insights as if you could so you can make sound real estate choices for you and your family.

There are several suburbs and municipalities that are popular with those working at Randolph AFB, Fort Sam, BAMC and Lackland.  Cibolo, Universal City, Helotes are just a few to consider. There are also many new developments in the San Antonio area. With inventory low, building a house and renting for a while might be something to consider. Rental property in San Antonio is always in demand. If you have to PCS again we can either help you sell your home or turn it into an investment property and manage it through our property management services.

What kind of house do you need?

Once you have identified a location in San Antonio or in a surrounding suburbs, define your specific needs for the house based on your lifestyle and the number of people in your household. How many bedrooms and bathrooms do you need? As well as how much kitchen space do you need? Do you prefer to have a family room? What about a backyard? How many cars do you need to park in the garage? Do you prefer a single-story or a two-story home?

When you work with me and my team of Realtors we will set you up with a customized MLS search that will notify and send you new listings in San Antonio as soon as they go on the market. Our notifications are pulled directly from the MLS and updated in real-time. Clients will get them faster than many of the big real estate search engines like Zillow. This is important when houses go on and off the market as quickly as we are seeing in San Antonio.

What amenities do you want close?

Identify nearby school districts, hospitals, churches, and shopping establishments. Are there enough roads in the neighborhood to get in and out during rush hour? Once you have identified all these, make a list and use this as a guide in looking for a home in San Antonio TX. This list will help you avoid making an impulsive or emotional decision. Moving to San Antonio will be a whole lot easier when you work with a real estate Brokerage like Real Estate Muses to help you find not only the best home, but the best location in San Antonio TX. We pride ourselves in knowing San Antonio and ensuring our clients make sound financial decisions.

I really enjoy working with the military and their families. I grew up in a military family myself and saw how frequent moves can be stressful. It is part of the reason I got into real estate but definitely the reason I became a Certified Military Relocation Specialist. I have experience with VA loans, BAH and mortgage payment calculations, etc. But I also understand fast timelines and helping people buy a house when they live in another location. I would be honored to help you with your next PCS to San Antonio. Call me or email me anytime!
